2023年12月11日，WatZatSong 用户 Kerlo 上传了一段神秘的歌曲片段。他声称小时候父母给了他很多盗版DVD，在检查了阁楼上的袋子后找到了38张光盘。光盘中有一首歌他无法辨识，据他所说来自一张 天才眼镜狗 的盗版DVD的启动画面。他认为这张DVD大概来自2014或2015年。¹

Kerlo 将包含这首歌曲片段的DVD启动画面上传至 YouTube，随后引起了讨论热潮。因为在此之前就有一首在盗版DVD启动画面上发现的失传歌曲 How Long ，而 Kerlo 也是参与搜索的人之一。²

发现

2024年1月29日，用户 aholyman 在 WatZatSong 上传了这首歌的新片段，声称来自一个名为 “CountryLIVE” 的zip文件，并提供了歌曲文件的属性信息。之后整首歌被上传到 Vocaroo。不到3个小时后，这首歌就被确认为 Templeton Thompson 的《This One’s Gonna Fly》。

骗局

2024年2月23日，Reddit 用户 thenormmalelevator32 发现，Kerlo 在发布最初的片段的前几天就听过 Templeton Thompson 的歌。Kerlo 之后承认他伪造了整个事件，这意味着 “Above The Clouds” 是一个被证实的骗局，因为 Kerlo 一直非常清楚他在找的歌曲是什么。¹³

后来，用户 Alex 通过 Kerlo 上传的DVD启动画面中的熔岩背景和金色边框，证明这段视频是在一个名为 DVDStyler 的软件中创建的。
