概述

2021年7月3日之前，Facebook用户Jitomate Triste在其个人主页上传了这首歌的片段询问这首歌的名字。Jitomate为这首歌做了一个MV，使用了迪士尼动画电影《爱丽丝梦游仙境》作为视频素材。之后，这首歌被转发到Facebook上一个失传媒体爱好者群组，并于7月4日被上传到YouTube。

2021年9月，这首歌在西班牙语圈子中获得关注，人们普遍认为这首歌的演唱者操一口西班牙口音的英语。同年10月中旬，一位名叫“Yo-yoyo”的YouTube用户表示，智利另类摇滚乐队Gin&Tonic可能创作了这首歌。该乐队成立于2001年，于2005年解散。2003年，该乐队发行了他们的第一张也是唯一一张专辑《Free as the Sun》，专辑的曲风、主唱的口音与这首歌比较相似。

10月下旬，有人联系了Gin&Tonic的主唱Ricardo Méndez，他否认他或他的乐队创作了这首歌。但后来Méndez按照自己的理解，单方面创作了这首歌的重制版。

发现

2024年5月16日，Reddit用户JMike_324和大学里的一个朋友谈论这首歌时，后者认出这首歌是秘鲁乐队Bad Influence演唱的，其认识这个乐队的成员。JMike_324找到了一段Bad Influence乐队在街头演唱这首歌的视频，并确认曲名为“Dreams 4ever”，于2018年11月录制。次日，JMike_324把这首歌的完整录音室版上传至YouTube。
